Soccer star Moon guilty of culpable homicide
Mavis Ncube died after Bryce Moon hit her with his car in 2009.
JOHANNESBURG - Former Bafana Bafana player Bryce Moon has been found guilty of culpable homicide in the Randburg Magistrates Court.
Pedestrian Mavis Ncube was killed after Moon hit her with his car in 2009 while she was walking along Katherine Street in Sandton.
He has been acquitted of murder, attempted murder, drunk driving and reckless or negligent driving charges.
Magistrate Vincent Pienaar says Moon's version that he was not speeding when the accident happened is false.
He has also pointed out material differences between the soccer star's first statements and his testimony in court.
Moon claims there was no way he could have avoided crashing into Ncube, as she ran into the road in front of him, while he was swerving to avoid her cousin.
Pienaar says Moon had no regard for his victim because of his inconsiderate driving.
