JOHANNESBURG - Platinum Stars coach Cavin Johnson on Wednesday said Kaizer Chiefs have already won the ABSA Premiership title and he will now focus on his club's Nedbank Cup campaign.

Stars are second on the log and seven points behind AmaKhosi with a game in hand.

Johnson says despite his side having an outside chance of closing the gap on Chiefs, he believes AmaKhosi will walk away with the title.

"I do believe that Kaizer Chiefs have won the league already. As far as the Nedbank Cup is concerned, I think it's something that both Sundowns and Platinum Stars will want. I'm sure the best team that wins on Sunday will win this trophy."

Despite Johnson's comments, Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter said the title race is far from over.

"I'm hoping the players don't reflect on it. Every time we go onto the field, it's a massive challenge. Looking further ahead can only be detrimental.

"You do this job because you want to win things, so we'll continue to hope and believe that we can."
