Suspected poachers being tracked
The anti-poaching team suspect a group of poachers were in the park stalking rhino.
KRUGER NATIONAL PARK - Game rangers in Kruger National Park were on Sunday tracking a group of suspected poachers who had entered the park illegally.
The anti-poaching team said they suspected the group consisted of between three and five men and that they came into the park over the Limpopo and Mozambican border on Sunday morning.
Chief coordinator of anti-poaching activities Mbongeni Thukela said the rangers found a spoor in the north of the park and defence force officials were also patrolling the border in case the men try to escape.
"They tracked the spoor from this morning.
"I got the call about 11:30.
"They were tracking the spoor going due north and they lost the spoor just below the dam around 15:30 this afternoon.
"They are still hoping on the spoor - maybe they will be lucky."
