Trauma centre calls increase
Calls to a Cape Town trauma centre have increased over the long weekend.
CAPE TOWN - A Cape Town based trauma centre on Friday received an increase in the number of calls from victims of violence over this Easter period.
The Trauma Centre for Survivors of Violence and Torture's Valdi van Reenen Le Roux said many of the calls counsellors received, were from people overcome by grief following a traumatic event.
"We do find that sometimes people are overcome with grief by the Saturday, as their family members are not with them.
"So, they would call in simply to have someone on the other side of the line, to talk them through."
