CAPE TOWN - There has been yet another drug bust on one of the Western Cape's busiest highways.

Provincial traffic officials confiscated eight bags of dagga worth an estimated R50,000 during a stop and search operation on the N2 between George and Wildreness on Sunday.

Three people were arrested.

Traffic Chief Kenny Africa says, "Our traffic officers stopped a Uno motor vehicle and confiscated eight bags of dagga. They then arrested its three occupants, the driver and the two passengers."

Authorities have launched an operation targeting drug traffickers using the province's main roads.

Since late February there have been at least three drug busts on the N1 highway.
