Cop killing 'just another incident'
W.Cape police chief Arno Lamoer says people have become desensitised to cop killings.
CAPE TOWN - Western Cape Police Commissioner Arno Lamoer says the killing of a Gugulethu policeman has been viewed as 'just another incident'.
Off-duty Sergeant Francois Jacobs was shot dead by three men at a panel beating shop in Nyanga on Monday night.
It is understood the gunmen approached the 33-year-old officer and demanded his service pistol.
No arrests have been made.
Lamoer says "it's sad that the broader society views this as just another incident".
"This is clearly an attack on the state and an attack on the community. A police officer was killed."
