Well-known advocate struck off roll
Advocate Seth Nthai SC has been barred from practicing law after he acted unlawfully.
PRETORIA - The legal fraternity is reeling after advocate Seth Nthai SC was recently struck from the roll of advocates.
The Pretoria News reported today that the North Gauteng High Court found that Nthai acted disgracefully by conniving with his opponents while representing the South African government abroad in a matter concerning mining rights.
Nthai was barred from ever working in the legal fraternity.
He was also slapped him with a punitive costs order.
He was the first Safety and Security MEC in Limpopo and the first black chairman of the Pretoria bar and vice president of the General Council of the Bar.
Nthai has also served at the Judicial Service Commission and has acted as a judge.
