Cheetahs make it two in a row
The Super Rugby kicked off with the Hurricanes and Cheetahs winning away from home.
CAPE TOWN - The Cheetahs held on for a thoroughly deserved win over the Waratahs in Sydney.
The South African franchise can thank their lucky stars for youngster Raymond Rhule who scored twice to hand the Cheetahs a 27 - 26 win.
The Bloemfontein side are fresh from a 36 - 19 win over the Highlanders and now boast two consecutive wins on tour heading in to their fixture against the Force.
Flyhalf Johan Goosen converted both tries and slotted two penalties.
The Cheetahs now move to third on South Africa's conference log and ninth on the overall log.
They should have a much easier time of it next week when they travel to Perth. A win there should put Cheetahs in good stead when Naka Drotské's men return to Bloemfontein.
The other result on Friday saw the visiting Hurricanes triumph over the struggling Highlanders 19 - 23.
A converted try by Hosea Gear and four penalties from the boot of Colin Slade proved to be the difference between the two sides.
