Olympic silver medallist in the women's 800 metres, Caster Semenya.

CAPE TOWN - Former 800 meter world champion Caster Semenya has resumed her training for the IAAF World Championships to be held in Moscow later this year.

The athlete is aiming to regain her title which she won back at the 2009 championships in Berlin.

Her coach Maria Mutola said Semenya is taking it easy in her build up to the European season, which she will use as a precursor to the Moscow championships.

"Training with Caster is good. She's a very dedicated athlete and she knows where she wants to be and how long it will take her to get there. She wants to be successful at athletics, and so far so good".

Mutola says Semenya has a bright future in international athletics.

"She's won the world championships and a silver medal at the Olympics. I believe that she knows she still has a lot of years coming her way. We're progressing and she's getting help from the High Performance Centre.
