Police launch manhunt
A woman and her daughter were killed during a robbery at their home on Saturday.
JOHANNESBURG - Gauteng police were on Sunday investigating a case of murder, rape and house robbery following an attack on a woman and her daughter in Etwatwa, east of Johannesburg.
The police's Lungelo Dlamini said the 62-year-old woman and her 26-year-old daughter were killed during a robbery at their home on Saturday night.
Dlamini said three men forced themselves through the main gate when the woman's 19-year-old tenant arrived home at around 8:00pm.
The men then fled with the woman's car, which was later found in a nearby area.
Dlamini confirmed that no arrests have yet been made.
"We are investigating a case of murder, rape, as well as house robbery and we have launched a manhunt for two other suspects."
Meanwhile, KwaZulu-Natal police continue their search for the gunmen who killed six siblings at their home near Greytown.
The police's Vincent Mdunge said a special task team is investigating Saturday's attack.
Only two children and a 17-year-old survived the shooting.
Mdunge said the attackers were armed with AK47 rifles and hand guns.
"There have not been any arrests," said Mdunge.
"The motive for this attack is still unknown at this stage."
