Winde to table WC budget
Western Cape Finance MEC Alan Winde is expected to table his budget on Thursday.
CAPE TOWN - Some quarters have called on the Western Cape government to spend more money this year on boosting small businesses and creating jobs.
Finance MEC Alan Winde will table his 2013 budget on Thursday afternoon.
The provincial government is expected to allocate most of its budget to health and education.
Black Business Chamber chairperson Sizwe Ngqame is hoping for a major boost to develop the small business sector.
"That would help create more jobs and reduce poverty."
The Cape Chamber of Commerce's Viola Manuel agrees saying they are also looking forward to seeing how much government will spend on new projects.
"We are going to see how funds are going to be allocated to take the broad band project further.
The ANC wants the DA-led government to spend majority on the poor.
