Another gay man found murdered
Police are investigating the death of a gay man in Sea Point, Cape Town.
JOHANNESBURG - A Sea Point man has been killed in what appears to be the latest in a string of murders by a gang targeting the gay community in Gauteng and the Western Cape.
In November, Gauteng police announced a task team was formed to investigate the alleged serial murders.
Officers arrested three men for the murder of Orange Grove resident Barney van Heerden that same month.
Graham Flax was found dead by his roommate at their home on Sunday night.
Police believe the 65-year-old had invited his killer into the apartment after meeting him online.
Flax's murder has striking similarities to eight other gay murders in Gauteng.
All victims were found bound and strangled in their homes.
While police have arrested a suspect in the case, it is unclear whether he has been linked in the gang responsible for the other murders.
