MEC tables Gauteng budget
Gauteng Finance MEC Mandla Nkomfe tabled the provincial budget on Wednesday.
JOHANNESBURG - Gauteng Finance MEC Mandla Nkomfe has focused on health, education and infrastructure in his 2013 budget speech.
Many of the MEC's focal points mirrored those of Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan.
Nkomfe has been placed in charge of the province's R76.9 billion.
The MEC told the Gauteng Legislature that his main focus will be on improving service delivery, education and improving Gauteng's hospitals.
The health department will receive R28 billion, while the province's schools will get a 40 percent share of the pie.
The Gauteng Roads and Transport Department received less money compared to previous years.
The department was given R4.7 billion.
