Proteas could lose momentum - Smith
Proteas Captain Graeme Smith is worried about the long break before their next Test series.
JOHANNESBURG - Proteas Captain Graeme Smith on Monday lamented the fact that his side would only play their next Test match only later in 2013.
The Proteas celebrated their 3-0 test series victory over Pakistan on Saturday.
They have now gone 15 matches unbeaten.
However, the Proteas do not play another Test match until they meet Pakistan in Abu Dhabi and Dubai in October.
Smith said they will have to prepare well because the long break could see them lose valuable momentum.
"It's obviously six months away from Test cricket, which is disappointing but it is the reality. We just have to focus and remain in control."
Smith said good preparation could help them maintain their momentum going into that Test series.
"I think we just have to focus really hard before the series and give ourselves the best chance to be successful."
The Proteas will play Pakistan in the first T20 in Durban on Friday.
