Man dies after falling from SCC

Police are now investigating the cause of death after a man fell from the Sandton Convention Centre.

SANDTON - A security manager at the Sandton Convention Centre (SCC) who fell on Wednesday morning died in hospital.

It is understood that Michael Ndlovu was conducting a routine patrol inside the building when he fell down six metres.

Sandton police spokesperson Kim Cloete said they were investigating the cause of the death.

"He fell through a void during his patrol. We will be opening an inquest docket."

Officials said Ndlovu was patrolling the building at around 6am when he fell.

Paramedics were immediately called to the scene.

The 39-year-old man was airlifted to the Netcare Milpark Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and passed away.
