Blade Runner in court
Oscar Pistorius will appear in court for a second time as his defence fights for his bail application.
PRETORIA - Oscar Pistorius arrived at the Pretoria Magistrates Court on Tuesday ahead of his formal bail application.
It is understood Pistorius was brought from the Brooklyn Police Station shortly after 6am into the court house through a back entrance in a convoy of cars accompanied by investigators.
His lawyers and family also walked through the main doors just before 8am.
The Blade Runner shot and killed his model girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, at his Pretoria home on Valentine's Day.
Meanwhile, there was a throng of media clogging the passageway outside the courtroom.
The Justice Department put strict restrictions in place allowing only 26 media representatives into the hearing.
It is unclear what criteria will be used to determine access.
However, businessman, Kenny Kunene was allowed to take his seat.
Initial argument is expected to be over whether Pistorius will face a Schedule 5 or Schedule 6 charge, after the prosecution indicated it would bring a premeditated murder charge against the athlete.
The Blade Runner's legal team will then bring a formal bail application.
Meanwhile, Reeva's friends and family will today hold a private memorial service in Port Elizabeth.
