Two killed in car accident in JHB

A car accident has claimed the lives of two people in Johannesburg on Sunday.

JOHANNESBURG - Two people were killed and two others seriously injured in an accident on the N14 between Malibongwe and Beyers Naude Drive in Johannesburg on Sunday.

Paramedics said the exact details of how the accident occurred were not yet clear and would be investigated by the police.

Netcare 911 spokesperson Senti Steinman said a light delivery vehicle pulling a caravan was found overturned.

"The father, aged 39, and a 10-year-old boy were ejected from the car and died on impact."

Earlier, a 55-year-old cyclist was killed in a hit and run incident near the Silverstar Casino in Krugersdorp, west of Johannesburg.

The police are investigating the incident.

In Randburg, another hit and run incident left three motor cyclists critically injured.

ER24 spokesperson Vanessa Jackson said the injured were taken to hospital.

"Two of them suffered extensive injuries and the other one had head injuries."
