JHB taxi driver shot by passenger
A man who was pretending to be a passenger in a taxi shot the driver in Newlands, Johannesburg.
NEWLANDS - Police are searching for a gunman who shot and wounded a taxi driver in Newlands, west of Johannesburg today.
The man allegedly pretended to be a passenger and asked the driver to pull over so that he can get off when he pulled out a firearm.
He shot the man in the back and jumped into another taxi which had been waiting for him.
Police spokesperson Katlego Mogale said a case of attempted murder was opened.
"The person who shot (the driver) was pretending to be a passenger."
