Minister Dina Pule might 'face the axe'
Media reports suggest that Minister Dina Pule could be fired for alleged nepotism.
JOHANNESBURG - It appears Communications Minister Dina Pule is facing the axe.
The minister recently come under fire after it was revealed her boyfriend was paid R6 million to manage the inaugural ICT Indaba in Cape Town last year.
The Sunday Times reported that her department pressurised organisers to hire Phosane Mngqibisa's company to assist with the major event.
The four-day conference took place in Cape Town in June 2012.
Both the Public Protector and parliament's ethics committee are investigating the alleged conflict of interest.
The Sunday Independent reported that Pule will be without a job soon as she is "too great a liability" for President Jacob Zuma.
The paper claims Zuma's advisor Lindiwe Zulu will possibly take over Pule.
Public Service and Administration Minister Lindiwe Sisulu is another name being bandied about.
