TSHWANE - Members of the South African Municipal Workers' Union (Samwu) were due to march to the Tshwane Municipal headquarters in the Pretoria CBD on Thursday afternoon.

Several hundred members are expected to gather at the taxi-rank near Schubart Park before moving to the CBD to voice their anger on alleged corruption.

Samwu said it is protesting against the ongoing victimisation of its members, as well as issues of crime, fraud and corruption.

Tshwane Metro Police members were expected to take part in the protest.

They told Eyewitness News they would call on management to act on a recent report into corruption at the city pound, as well the findings of a Special Investigating Unit probe.

The union held a march last year over similar issues.
