Nigeria says it won't underestimate Burkina Faso

Nigeria is hoping to be crowned Afcon champions for the third time on Sunday.

JOHANNESBURG - Nigeria say they will not underestimate their opponents in the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) final, which will take place at the National Stadium on Sunday.

The Super Eagles will face Burkina Faso for the continental crown after, beating Mali 4-1 yesterday to book their place.

Burkina Faso caused one of the tournaments biggest upsets after beating powerhouse Ghana 3-2 on penalties to advance to the final for the first time.

Nigerian coach Stephen Keshi says they will do their homework ahead of the final.

"We will prepare ourselves for the final and we will give it our best."

The Super Eagles have won the competition twice, in 1980 and 1994.

The final kicks off at 8pm.

Meanwhile, the Black Stars will take on Mali in the third-place play-off on Saturday evening at Nelson Mandela Bay.
