CAPE TOWN - Cobras coach Paul Adams said he could not have asked for a better season with the team so far.

Adams took over at the start of the season with many wary of him never having coached a senior team.

A win in their final Sunfoil Series match could see them bag the trophy when they face the Knights in Bloemfontein on Thursday.

Adams said the players have been brilliant this season.

"They've stepped up. We've had some down moments as well, but we've managed to pick ourselves up. We just have to focus on this next game. We have nothing to lose."

Adams said starting well will be key in the game.

"I think it's important how we play our first innings, in a four day game, it's where you set the tone. We want to do well in batting and bowling."

The game begins at 10am.

In the other match, the Warriors will take on the Highveld Lions at St Georges Park in Port Elizabeth.
