CAPE TOWN - Sonny Bill Williams (SBW) told Eyewitness News Sport on Tuesday he doesn't feel like he's giving the Francois 'the White Buffalo' Botha too much respect.

SBW will fight Botha in Friday's World Boxing Association (WBA) International Heavyweight title fight in Brisbane.

Botha, who is being exceptionally vocal ahead of the match, says even his son could beat the Rugby World Cup winner.

Williams however has opted to take the silent route in the build-up to the bout, which he said is not a sign he's intimidated.

"I give him respect in the way that I train and the way that I prepare. I haven't been in the ring a lot but I have been involved in some pretty big occasions and I know I have to get in there and get on levelled ground."

Williams said that tactically he is prepared for everything and won't hesitate if given an opportunity to put Botha down.

"I'll be prepared if the fights going to go the whole way. I am also prepared to stay clear of some of his punches."

Williams also sent 'special hello" to his friend, Proteas batsman Hashim Amla, who rose to the top of the world Test rankings as well as being the best One Day International (ODI) batsman.

The fight will take place at 10AM on Friday morning.
