Alleged drive-by shooter in court
The cousin of a Reiger Park teenager shot in a drive-by shooting will appear in court for the crime.
JOHANNESBURG - The cousin of a Reiger Park teenager wounded in a drive-by shooting will appear in court for the crime on Monday.
The 16-year-old was shot outside the Golden Shopping Centre on Wednesday evening, while out with a friend.
He was shot in the thigh and left shoulder.
Police spokesperson Mashudu Patela said the suspect had spent the weekend in jail.
He said the arrest of the 27-year-old came after the police's investigation revealed new information.
The man faces attempted murder charges.
Meanwhile, police are still on the hunt for the person who killed reformed gangster Bonaventure Mynhardt in the same area on the same day.
It is not clear if the two incidents are related.
