Wave sweeps man off Gordons Bay rocks
A Cape Town man is still missing after he was swept off the rocks when he went for a swim.
CAPE TOWN - Police divers are looking for the body of a man who was swept off the rocks near Gordon's Bay on Monday.
The man, said to be around 30-years-old was working at a construction site near the area.
His colleagues tried to rescue him with a rope, but said he disappeared almost immediately.
The National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI)'s Craig Lambinon said, "According to his colleagues they'd gone down to the beach front to escape the heat in the afternoon. They were working at a construction site in Gordon's Bay. While on the water's edge the man was swept off the rocks by a wave."
