Juan Smith to return to Super Rugby
Juan Smith has started training with the Cheetahs ahead of 2013 Super Rugby season.
CAPE TOWN - Cheetahs coach Naka Drotske on Friday said loose forward Juan Smith is expected to make a return to action in a Super Rugby pre-season match.
Smith has been out for almost two years due to an achilles injury.
Drotske said he was satisfied with Smith's progress.
"He started training with the squad only last Monday. He looks very well but obviously he hasn't made any contact yet in compact sessions."
Drotske said they will not rush Smith back.
"We're thinking of maybe giving him 20 minutes in our last warm up game against the Bulls. He's been out for two years so we won't rush him back. I think confidence wise he needs to be ready mentally."
The new season starts on 15 February.
