CARLETONVILLE - An urgent application by the Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union (Amcu) for access to Harmony Gold's Kusasalethu mine hostel has been postponed in the South Gauteng High Court.

Judge Ndawoyakhe Tshabalala will now hear various reasons as to why AMCU mineworkers should or should not be allowed back into the hostels on Wednesday.

Workers have been trying to get access since the mine shut down earlier in January, as a result of wildcat strikes.

The mine has since stopped all operations and the fate of some 1,700 employees remains uncertain.

Kusasalethu mine is situated near Carletonville on Gauteng's West Rand.
