JOHANNESBURG - South African Music Award winning singer Lira said on Thursday she was extremely excited about her chance to perform at US President Barack Obama's inaugural ball next week.

Lira and house music group Micasa have been selected to woo Obama after he was reelected as president.

The singer says she can't contain her excitement anymore.

"It's just four days away and I'm extremely excited! I think the nerves will only kick in when I'm there, but at the moment I just can't wait to get there."
