JOHANNESBURG - The Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) Local Organising Committee (LOC) on Sunday dismissed reports that there are no transport plans, with less than a week to go before the start of the tournament.

_The Sunday Independent _has reported that the committee is yet to conclude a deal with the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA) to provide transport for both players and fans.

But the LOC's Sipho Sithole has disputed this, saying host cities finalised logistical plans months ago.

“When it comes to our tournament operations, whether it’s hotels, training grounds, transport – that has been signed off long ago.

“And for a newspaper to come out and say the LOC has got no transport planned, that is ridiculous.”
