Thumbs up for Searching for Sugar Man

Some Hollywood heavyweights say they were blown away by Searching for Sugar Man.

NEW YORK - A film inspired by the success an American singer discovered in South Africa while his own country all but ignored him - is one of those tipped to watch during Sunday's Golden Globe Awards.

Searching for Sugar Man, about Detroit-born musician Rodriguez, is also up for Best Documentary Feature at the Oscars.

It is a film that has had everyone talking.

This Is 40 director Judd Apatow told Eyewitness News he loved it.

"I thought it was a beautiful documentary."

Other stars have expressed similar sentiments.

Previous Oscar winner, Michael Moore, believes it deserves to be nominated for a Best Picture Oscar.
