CAPE TOWN - Authorities say there have been increased reports of ATM fraud throughout the Mother City during the Festive season.

Cape Town Metro Police officials say they have received several calls from concerned members of the public about suspicious activities near the ATM's in their areas during the holidays.

The metro police's Wayne Le Roux says citizens need to be vigilant of their surroundings when withdrawing money at all times.

"We want to appeal to people to please be extra careful especially during the back to school shopping. Don't allow anybody to distract you nearby an ATM."
