Kaizer Chiefs believes it has all the players it needs to win the Absa Premiership.

JOHANNESBURG - Kaizer Chiefs says it will hold onto its players during the transfer season and will also not expand its squad further despite reports that AmaZulu are after Abia Nale and Sthembiso Ngcobo.

The duo have been struggling for game time since the club signed some big name players before the new season.

Team manager Bobby Motaung says with a number of Chiefs players on national duty in the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) those who were on the bench can get game time when the league resumes.

"I don't think it would be wise for us to actually go out in the market at the moment. Some of our players have not had game time. We want to give them an opportunity after Afcon because some of the guys from the national team may be tired or injured."

Chiefs are currently on top of the log after losing one game.

Afcon starts on 12 January - 10 February.
