CAPE TOWN - South African Football Association (Safa) President Kirsten Nematandani on Monday told Eyewitness News Sport that Bafana Bafana will likely pay tribute to Burry Stander in their international friendly against Norway.

The game will take place at the Cape Town Stadium on Tuesday.

Stander tragically died after being struck by a taxi in Shelly Beach on Thursday.

Nematandani said he will be discussing exactly what would be appropriate once he is in Cape Town and has had a chat to coach Gordon Igesund and other officials.

"He's been a great sportsman for our country. It's befitting that any national team can come in and observe that moment of silence. I will be discussing it with the team in Cape Town. This happens to be a fellow South African, who has made us proud over the years."

Cyclists from all over the country remembered the Olympian over the weekend.

There were various races in his memory.
