JOHANNESBURG - The Department of Home Affairs on Monday called on people experiencing problems at border posts to lodge complaints directly to them.

This comes after heavy traffic volumes were reported at the Beitbridge border post between Zimbabwe and South Africa.

The border post is experiencing an average of 26,000 people passing through every day.

Home Affairs Director-General Mkuseli Apleni says additional staff has been deployed to assist at the port of entry.

"Our contact numbers have been posted by the border posts so that when people get [bad] experiences they can call us."
