WC top cop reflects on 2012
WC Police Commissioner Arno Lamoer reflects on 2012 and sets priorities for the New Year.
CAPE TOWN - Arno Lamoer said on Monday tackling the drug trade and bringing down violent crimes are his top priorities for 2013.
The Western Cape Police Commissioner was asked to reflect on 2012.
Lamoer admitted 2012 was a violent year for the province.
"This year was marred by a lot of protest acion, service delivery protests, the farmworkers strikes, the transport worker strikes and gang violence."
As part of Lead SA's ongoing Drug Watch campaign Cape Town police have made nearly 2,000 drug-related arrests.
