JOHANNESBURG - A driving school owner is due to appear in the Johannesburg Magistrates Court on charges of fraud and being in possession of fake driver's licences.

The 29-year-old man was arrested during a routine operation by metro police in the Johannesburg central business district on Sunday.

Officers discovered the man had three fake drivers' licences in his own name and also found dozens of suspected fake learner permits in his vehicle.

The JMPD's Wayne Minnaar said, "The officers also discovered dozens of ID photos and ID books of different people in his possession. The suspect operates a driving school and appears to have produced driving licences from the boot of his care, which he sells."
