JOHANNESBURG - Three men were arrested for stealing groceries worth about R300,000 in Midrand this weekend.

The Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) said the goods included nappies, baby food and deodorant.

The JMPD’s Wayne Minaar said he believes the men were planning to re-sell the goods.

“It turned out the driver and owner of the truck and trailer was a contract driver for Spar.

“All of the men were arrested and will appear in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court tomorrow morning to face charges of theft.”
