CAPE TOWN - Young Springbok and Western Province player Eben Etzebeth on Thursday said the past season was "amazing" for him.

Etzebeth was part of the Western Province team that won the Absa Currie Cup by securing a 25-18 victory over the Sharks at the Mr Price Kings Park Stadium in Durban.

The 21-year-old said among his many highlights was making his debut for the Stormers as well as the Springboks in 2012.

"It did not end there, I played my first semi-final in the Super Rugby, and being part of the side that won the Currie Cup was pretty amazing. This year was pretty amazing for me."

Etzebeth has already set his goals for the next season.

"I'll try and do more for the Springboks and focus on the Super Rugby. My other aim is to help my team defend our Currie Cup title. I intend on working hard to improve my game."
