President Robert Mugabe will reportedly cover the costs of Adam Ndlovu’s funeral.

BULAWAYO - Zimbabwe's football star Adam Ndlovu will be buried in his home town on Saturday.

The Chicken Inn coach was killed in a road accident last weekend.

His brother Peter was seriously injured in the crash.

Both of Zimbabwe's political parties are keen to be associated with funeral proceedings.

Zanu-PF is adamant Ndlovu cannot be a national hero, but President Robert Mugabe and his family will reportedly be paying for the funeral expenses.

Mines Minister Obert Mpofu, also a member of Zanu-PF, has announced he is paying for the brother's medical expenses.

He underwent an operation on Wednesday and is recuperating.

Meanwhile, the MDC's Morgan Tsvangirai is already in Bulawayo for the funeral service.

The MDC is adamant Ndlovu is a national hero.

However, the party does not have a say on who can be buried in the National Heroes Acre.
