JOHANNESBURG - Lobby group Section 27 praised the Department of Basic Education's efforts to meet Saturday's deadline of textbook deliveries in Limpopo.

The group has been in contact with 14 schools throughout the province over the past few weeks and said almost all required books for grade four, five, six and eleven for 2013 have been delivered.

Saturday marked the court imposed deadline for the delivery of textbooks in the province, after it failed to deliver textbooks throughout 2012.

Section 27's Nikki Stein said, that although some books are outstanding, they remain positive.

“We are very encouraged that the delivery of books is almost complete and we remain hopeful that they will deliver all the books for all the grades before the start of the school year on the 7th January.”
