Cobras not concerned about weather

The Cape Cobras have prepared for any scenario ahead of the One Day Cup final.

The Cape Cobras have prepared for any scenario ahead of the One Day Cup final.

CAPE TOWN - Cobras captain Justin Ontong says the forecast of rain during Friday's One Day Cup final has been fitted into their plans.

There is a chance of late afternoon thunder showers during the cup final, which could result in the 50 over game being reduced.

Ontong says while the weather is out of their control, they have strategized around that.

"We can't control the weather. We just have to make sure we are prepared for anything. There's a talk of a shortened game and we need to prepare well for that. We just need to cover all our basis."

Ontong says they must be able to adapt to the situation on the day.

"I think it's about being flexible on the day. If we manage to get 40 overs in we just have to be able to change our game strategy."

The Cobras will take on the Lions at Wanderers Stadium.
