SOWETO - A Soweto family on Monday gathered at a house in Jabavu where the decomposed body of a 12-year-old boy was found at the weekend.

Mthokozisi Sibeko was discovered in a dustbin at the family's garage after he had been missing for a week.

Forensic pathologists combed the area looking for clues on what caused his death.

The dustbin where his body was found was wheeled out of the garage as police wearing rubber gloves searched the house.

Family members remained indoors and were reluctant to speak about the tragedy.

Some family members said they were too emotional and were still coming to terms with the death.

The boy, who was in grade four, was last seen at the house a week ago.

He was sent to a local supermarket to buy bread and eggs.
