Lira to perform for Obama
SA’s singing sensation Lira is one of the performers at President Barack Obama’s ambassador inaugural ball.
JOHANNESBURG - The sensational Lira is set to bless U.S. President Barack Obama with her African soul sound in Washington DC at the ambassador inaugural ball in January.
Lerato Molapo, internationally well-known as Lira, is set to perform at the theme ball on the 21 January.
Lira and three other African artists at set to be on stage at the ball.
The speechless singer says she cannot wait to share her music with the wider audience.
"I have no idea how I feel. How do you even begin to comprehend something like this? It's insane."
Manager Robin Hohl says this they cannot wait to perform for Obama, who recently beat republication challenger mitt Romney.
"We'll be performing at the 2013's ambassador inaugural ball. We'll be part of a general proceeding for the inauguration of the 44th president of the United States."
Lira has been pursuing the American market for three years.
