Ajax Cape Town coach says they are hoping to do well before the Christmas break.

CAPE TOWN - Ajax Cape Town coach Jan Pruijn on Friday admitted that his team has simply not been good enough this season.

The Urban Warriors are near the relegation zone with three games left until their Christmas and African Cup of Nations (Afcon) break.

They will be looking for a confidence boosting win against Maritzburg United at Athlone Stadium on Friday night.

United is currently at number four on the log.

Pruijn said the next three matches will be crucial.

"Hopefully, in the next three games, we can turn things around."

Pruijn said they will use the break to reflect and plan for the rest of the season.

"We need to reflect and prepare for the second part of the season."

The Cape Town-side is sitting at number 13 following seven losses.

Kickoff is at 8pm.

In another PSL encounter, Moroka Swallows will take on SuperSport United at Dobsonville Stadium.
