De Sa ready for Soweto derby

Pirates coach Roger de Sa says he is ready for his first Soweto derby, whatever the outcome.

It’s Roger de Sa’s first Soweto derby and he’s ready for whatever the outcome.

CAPE TOWN - Orlando Pirates coach Roger de Sa would have been happier with a win against Chippa United Wednesday evening heading into the derby at the weekend.

The league champions were held to a 0-0 draw by the Chilli Boys, while Chiefs will be buoyed by their 3-0 thrashing of Ajax Cape Town.

De Sa says the derby is a six pointer.

"I'd like to tell you that it's still a three point game, but I'd be lying. It's Chiefs and Pirates. It doesn't matter what position they are on the log."

De Sa says both teams go into the match equal.

"It's still the first round. If we lose, they'll get a gap, or it could go the other way and we could go equal."

Chiefs are at the top of the Premier Soccer League (PSL) table, with Pirates in at a close second.

The Soweto derby will take place at the FNB Stadium on Saturday at 2:30pm.
