Chippa coach shows faith in goalie
Chippa United goalkeeper Kassaly Daouda will lead his side against Orlando Pirates on Wednesday night.
CAPE TOWN - Chippa United goalkeeper Kassaly Daouda is set to take over the captaincy for Wednesday's Premier Soccer League (PSL) clash against Pirates.
Interim coach Farouk Abrahams hopes the move will restore confidence in the Niger keeper following his howler against Ajax Cape Town.
Daouda's mistake led to a goal and Chippa's first loss under Abrahams.
But Abrahams says he still has faith in Daouda.
"This is to show that I have faith in him. He has won three or four man of the match awards in the short time that he's been with the team."
The Bucs are currently second on the log, while Chippa is at number 14.
The game starts at 7:30pm at the Cape Town Stadium.
In another PSL encounter, Black Leopards will take on AmaZulu at Peter Mokaba Stadium.
Struggling Mamelodi Sundowns will face Free State Stars under the leadership of Pitso Mosimane at Charles Mopeli Stadium.
