Drugs found in CT driver’s colon
A 28-year-old man was nabbed after drugs were found in his colon on Saturday.
CAPE TOWN - Southern Cape police said they arrested more than 130 people for the illegal possession of drugs and illegal firearms at the weekend.
Police spokesperson Captain Bernadine Steyn said a 28-year-old man was also nabbed after drugs were found in his colon on Saturday.
Officers, who were acting on a tip-off, arrested the man on the N12 Highway towards Oudtshoorn.
Meanwhile, Western Cape police said they made more than 2,000 arrests this past week alone.
Poached abalone, drugs worth more than R500,000 and 7000 litres of alcohol were seized during police operations.
Officers further recovered 58 stolen vehicles.
Police spokesperson Frederick van Wyk said, "With the festive season on our doorstep, it is our endeavour to cover the entire province and ensure a peaceful holiday."
