Failed ‘suicide’ costs man his legs
A Johannesburg man is recovering in hospital after losing his legs in an apparent attempted suicide.
JOHANNESBURG - A man is recovering at the Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital, after losing both his legs in an apparent attempted suicide.
Officials said the 30-year-old man threw himself in front of an oncoming train in Soweto on Wednesday afternoon.
Robert Mulaudzi, spokesperson for Johannesburg Emergency Management Services, on Thursday said the man admitted that he was going through a rough patch.
"Through our engagement with him, he alluded to the fact that he was not emotionally well."
