Defending league champions, Orlando Pirates, are hoping to collect maximum points in Polokwane.

JOHANNESBURG - ABSA Premiership Champions Orlando Pirates on Wednesday said their biggest priority going into the match against Black Leopards is to narrow Kaizer Chiefs' points lead at the top of the log standings.

Chiefs are seven points clear after winning their epic battle against Moroka Swallows on Tuesday night.

The intense encounter between the Soweto sides produced five goals.

Chiefs is the only team that has not been beaten this season.

Pirates are third behind Maritzburg United but still have a game in hand.

Leopards are currently at number 11 in the log.

The Buccaneers' Mickey Modisane said their game is a must win if they hope to stay consistent in the title race.

"It is important for us to breach that gap. We need to collect maximum points in order to narrow the gap with the log leaders."

Kickoff is at 7:30pm at Peter Mokaba Stadium.
