JOHANNESBURG - Three people have been killed and six others injured at the Noord Street taxi rank in the Johannesburg city centre.

The area where the three men were shot and killed was cordoned off, with dozens of onlookers gathering around the crime scene.

According to a taxi marshall, Tuesday's shooting happened behind a vehicle where nobody could see.

Earlier, a woman believed to be related to one of the victims collapsed when she saw a body lying next to a minibus, with blood splattered on the pavement.

It is still not clear if the victims are passengers or taxi drivers.

Police are on the scene.
